Rock and Roll Trainer Night Rides
Rock and Roll Trainer Night Rides scheduled for Jan. 20, Jan. 27, Feb. 3 and Feb. 10
Indoor bicycling event to benefit CVNPA and help beat cabin fever
Century Cycles is teaming up with the Winking Lizard and Kinetic bicycle trainers to host Rock and Roll Trainer Night Rides, an opportunity for local bicyclists to challenge themselves on one of the hottest indoor bicycle trainers, have fun, and help a good cause.
Rock and Roll Trainer Night Rides will be at the Winking Lizard in Peninsula, Ohio, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. They begin Wednesday, January 20, and will continue the following three Wednesday nights – January 27, February 3 and February 10. The cost is $2 for a 2-minute ride, with all proceeds benefiting the Cuyahoga Valley National Park Association’s TRAILS FOREVER Legacy Fund.
Participants will ride a Raleigh Special cruiser bike on a Kinetic Rock and Roll Bicycle Trainer for two minutes in two-person heats. Distance and wattage will be measured. All skill levels are welcome; the Specials were selected to level the playing field (nobody is allowed to bring their own bike). Sponsors are providing nightly prizes, plus every participant gets entered to win one of the two Raleigh Special bicycles – one men’s, one women’s – which will be awarded at the end of the four-week event.
Rock and Roll Trainer Night Rides are sponsored by Century Cycles, Raleigh Bicycles, Kinetic, Sierra Nevada Brewing Company, and the Winking Lizard.

TRAILS FOREVER is a new initiative by the Cuyahoga Valley National Park Association (CVNPA) to support a world-class trail system in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. The proceeds will be reserved exclusively for the purposes of maintaining and operating in perpetuity the Towpath Trail, bikepaths, footpaths, and equestrian trails in the National Park. For more information about the TRAILS FOREVER Legacy Fund, visit www.cvnpa.org/TrailsForever or contact the CVNPA at 330-657-2909.
Bicycle trainers make it possible for a cyclist to ride his or her bike indoors. The Kinetic Rock and Roll bicycle trainer takes realism (and a workout) to a whole new level with the only trainer that delivers the side-to-side motion characteristic of outdoor riding and out-of-the-saddle hill climbs. To watch a video of the Kinetic Rock and Roll bicycle trainer ($559.99) in action, visit http://tinyurl.com/kineticrnr. The Raleigh Special is a cruiser bicycle that is simplicity in motion – one gear, one coaster brake, and it comes in just one color.
This is the first indoor cycling event for Century Cycles. The local bike store chain is better known for their Century Cycles Night Rides on the Towpath Trail – free group bicycle rides at night that last about two hours and help participants experience the nocturnal side of the area’s most popular bike path. The 15th season begins on Saturday, April 24, at 8 p.m.
